Beale's Business NLP, coaching, sales and attraction newsletter - February 2008
This is a rather special month! I’ve interviewed two of the world’s top hypnosis trainers and have their podcasts for you to listen to… and for those of you who prefer reading, we have transcripts for you too.
We also have a podcast from NLP co-founder Richard Bandler. In addition, our new forum is now in the Beta testing phase, so do check it out…

And finally…
Beale’s NLP Podcast: Hypnosis and Change Management
Are you curious about hypnosis?
Then listen to my latest podcasts with two of the world’s most famous hypnosis trainers, Stephen Gilligan and John La Valle.
Stephen trained with Bandler and Grinder in the early days of NLP and then moved on to become a student of Milton Erikson. John currently co-trains with Richard Bandler and runs the Society of NLP for Richard.
It’s fascinating to compare and contrast what they say.
We discuss:
- What hypnosis is
- The criteria for a good hypnotic subject
- The criteria for a good hypnotist
And for those of you who are interested in company change, I’ve included an additional podcast from consultant Derek Bishop. He works on improving customer service and getting increased value from outsourcing, and is well worth listening to.
Next month’s episodes feature cold calling and seduction…
Co-founder Richard Bandler’s podcast
I’m also delighted to include a podcast of a recent interview of Kathlene La Valle with NLP co-founder Richard Bandler.
Click the link to listen to Richard Bandler’s podcast (please allow up to 2 minutes to download).
Richard confirms where the term Neuro-Linguistic programming came from and speaks of his continued drive to push the boundaries of NLP.
It’s posted with thanks to, and the agreement of, Kathleen and John La Valle.

Hypnosis doesn’t exist – or is everything hypnosis?
Click here to find out about Monsters and Magical Sticks. It’s one of the classic and easy to read books on hypnosis. At least read the Amazon reviews…
NLP definition of the Month: Four Tuple (or 4-tuple)
A method used to notate the structure of any particular experience. The concept of the four tuple maintains that any experience must be composed of some combination of the four primary representational systems - A,V,K,O where A=auditory, V=visual, K=kinesthetic and O=Olfactory and Gustatory.
It ties in with the NLP pre-supposition that all the distinctions that we humans are able to make concerning our environment can be usefully represented by our five senses.
Thus, in working out people's mental strategies, it’s important to find out the sequence of their pictures, sounds, feelings, smell and taste.
