Just Launched: NLP Pod cast
How has NLP helped you? I put that question to business coach Theresa Ahern from Australia’s Gold Coast, I also asked what advice she would give anyone just starting out on the NLP road. You can listen to her answers here. (Please allow a minute for the 11 minute MP3 file to download.)
And we’ll be talking to a wide range of coaches, business people and other professionals as to how they are using NLP over the coming months, so keep tuning in!
Attraction Tip: Get Lucky
Luck is useful to all of us! This month’s attraction tip comes from Richard Wiseman’s book ‘The Luck Factor’. Read an extract here to find out some of Richard’s conclusions on how to improve the odds of being ‘lucky’. What I find so interesting is how aligned they are to NLP approaches. I’d be interested to hear your feedback, so please do email me with your thoughts.
Teleseminars: Update
Further to last month’s teleseminars, I’m changing the format, so I’m looking for some volunteers to take part in this exciting development. Curious and think you might like to participate? Just read the post on my blog.
Recommendation: TRANCE-formations and other books
Richard Bandler and John Grinder’s TRANCE-formations is my favourite NLP and hypnosis book. Unfortunately it’s out of print and second hand copies are very expensive.
Click this link for details, and also for links to our recommended NLP books.
A Plug: Modelling the NLP Masters
Last month’s bad weather actually helped me! While stuck for three hours at Crewe station during the recent floods, I finally had a chance to catch up with the download of ‘Modelling the NLP Masters.’ This is where Tom O’Connor and Vikesh Ghelani interview 10 of the best NLP Master Trainers, including Dr Richard Bandler. Tom and Vik asked the trainers questions such as:
What exactly did you do to get so good at NLP?
How did you get your first clients?
Where do you see the opportunities in NLP to make money?
What do you believe about creating lasting change?
It’s only $157; I’d consider it essential listening for anyone interested in a career using NLP even at ten times the price. There’s even a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you feel the materials won’t help you (unlikely, I’m sure), you can get your investment refunded in full if you return the package within the guarantee period.
You can access more details here.
NLP definition of the month: Beliefs
Robert Dilts’ definition of ‘defined beliefs’ is: closely held generalisations about
cause, meaning, and the boundaries in the world around us relating to:
our behaviour
our capabilities
our identities.
It’s helpful to aware that beliefs function at a different level to concrete reality; in fact, they serve to guide and interpret our perceptions of reality.
Beliefs can be notoriously difficult to change through typical rules of logic or rational thinking. So when you don’t really know if something is true or not it can be worth asking, “What would be more useful to believe?”
See our A-Z on NLP terms here.
PPI Seminar Dates (2007)
Would you like to benefit from knowing more about NLP? Then come and train with us!
If you’re not entirely sure, just come to one of our taster sessions first. What I can say is, a good, basic knowledge of NLP will help you in your personal and business life.
In fact, many then choose to take NLP to further levels, and we cater for that too.
And if you really can’t get there in person, you can still benefit from our teleseminars courses.
And, remember, you save £167 when you book all three practitioner modules at one time.
Click here to find out about the dates and registration details for our teleseminars, taster sessions and accredited courses.
And finally, a word of thanks…
… to one of our past delegates Dean Bennett, who initially suggested I read ‘The Luck Factor’ several months ago. He’s just started a blog called The Business Garden. It’s well worth a look.
And until next time.…just enjoy...something you haven't yet enjoyed...
