Contents - what’s in your newsletter this month

  • Beale’s NLP Podcast:
  • NLP taster evening (Worth £75)
  • Deep Hypnosis in Milton Keynes
  • Start the adventure
  • Gabe Guerrero in London
  • NLP term of the month
  • The forum grows
  • And finally…

Beale’s NLP Podcast: Health

Health is important to all of us and yet we’ve don’t always appreciate the health we have. As such, I’m particularly pleased this month to speak to two authors who have a special interest in NLP.

The first is Garner Thomson who co-wrote ‘Magic in Practice’, aimed at the medical profession.
The second is Dr Peter Stapleton who edited ‘Your Mind Power – Strategies for Behaviour Change,’ initially aimed at university students.

I think ‘Magic in Practice in particular is a ‘landmark’ NLP book.

You can access Garner Thomson and Dr Peta Stapleton podcast and transcripts by following the links.

We discuss:

  • What is health?
  • What are some
  • Aspects of a healthy person?
  • How to stay healthy

And Liam Beale has added his thoughts on Losing Weight / Weight Loss - feel free to add any of your own thoughts!

Next month’s episodes feature networking from Ron Bates the most connected person on LinkedIn and the start of our series on international sales…

Deep Hypnosis in Milton Keynes

We’re running our 3-day Hypnotic Influence Master Class in Milton Keynes on the 19-31st May 2008.

It’s one of my favourite classes and enables us all to expand our limits a little (and occasionally a lot) further than we thought possible. Call me on 01908 506 563 if you would like to explore further.

In preparing for this master class, I’ve been listening to ‘Richard Bandler in Munich’. It’s a brilliant 23 CD set of Richard taking a hypnosis class in Munich and is superb for anyone that wants to develop their NLP and hypnosis skills.

FREE NLP Taster evening (worth £75)

Not every one realises that if we charged for taster sessions at commercial rates, the entrance fee would be well over £75 per person.

These sessions are great opportunity to experience NLP for real – experiences which you simply can’t get from a book or CD.

We’re running one NLP taster evening in London (5th August) and one in Milton Keynes (24th June), so you can find out for yourself what NLP’s about.

However, they will be the only ones I’m running in 2008, so reserve your place now!

The time, and places available, will go quickly.

Start the Adventure

You’ve already taken at least the first step in reading this newsletter: why not take another step to practitioner training by reserving a place on a two day NLP foundation course on either the 8-9th May 2008 or the 8-9th September 2008. To make sure you get a place, I advise you to register now.

You can read how people benefit from NLP training here.

Gabe Guerrero in London

I attended a taster with Gabe Guerrero in London with NLP Connections, which was a very enjoyable evening.

As a result, I have decided to attend his ‘Advanced Therapeutic Specialist’ programme in November.

It covers some of the approaches that Richard uses in his ‘Personal Enhancement workshops.’ – highly recommended if you’re interested in personal change.

NLP Definition of the month – Installation

This is the process of facilitating the acquisition of a new strategy or behaviour. A new strategy may be installed through some combination of NLP skills or techniques and/or any combination thereof.

Think of a time you got somebody to do something different on a consistent basis - you successfully installed a strategy.

See our other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

Forum grows – Thanks for your help

Many thanks for those that have joined our forum and particularly those who have registered as full members.

Be the start of something new! It’s free to register. For now (and it should only take 5 minutes) would you:

  • click on main forum of the NLP Experts Forum
  • click on introduce yourself
  • click on post reply
  • You then have to register. When you've registered, say something about what you do and your particular skills and post. Please look around.

We’re adding a new bookstore giving recommended NLP books, Richard Bandler NLP books and top selling NLP books

My favourite non-NLP books of the moment are ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’, ‘Fooled by Randomness’, and ‘Yes, 50 Secrets from the science of persuasion.’

And finally

PPI Seminar Dates

Our core business will always be delivering the best NLP training. Would you like to benefit from knowing more about NLP? Then come and train with us! The longer you put it off, the longer it will take you to achieve what’s important to you.

If you’re not entirely sure, just come to one of our taster sessions first. What I can say is, a good, basic knowledge of NLP will help you in your personal and business life.

In fact, many then choose to take NLP to further levels, and we cater for that too.

And, remember, you save £167 when you book all three practitioner modules at one time.

Contents - what’s in your newsletter this month

  • Beale’s NLP Podcast: Seduction
  • Paul McKenna: NLP Podcast
  • Favourite Richard Bandler CD and DVD’s
  • Richard in London
  • Free NLP taster evenings are back!
  • NLP Definition of the Month: Future Pacing
  • Forum grows – Thanks for your help
  • And finally…

Beale’s NLP Podcast: Seduction

Are you curious about seduction? Then listen to my latest podcast with Richard La Ruina who has written the ‘Natural Art of Seduction’ and runs courses in London.

Whether you find this subject intriguing or even a little concerning, there are a lot of important distinctions that relate to the way we all communicate with one another.

We discuss:

  • Being Sociable
  • Being Comfortable
  • Seducing

I’m not sure if it’s a related topic, but I’ve also I’ve also been talking to Catherine Jackson and Torsten Kinzelt who have achieved success by using Cold Calling as part of their sales activities. You may never need to cold call, but you might be interested to learn how the professionals do it.
Next month’s episodes feature metaphor and story telling…

NLP Trainer and Hypnotist Paul Mckenna – Podcast

I’m also delighted to include a podcast of a recent interview Kathlene La Valle conducted with NLP trainer Paul McKenna.

Click on this link for the Paul McKenna podcast . Paul explains how he got into hypnosis, how he met Richard Bandler, and how he developed his NLP training company to be the largest in the world. Highly recommended. This podcast is posted with thanks to and with the agreement of Kathleen and John La Valle.

Favourite Richard Bandler CD and DVDs

Currently I’m recommending ‘Hypnosis in Munich’ a 23-CD set on hypnosis, ‘Class of a Master’ a recent 4-DVD set filmed to broadcast standards in front of a studio audience, and ‘The Marshall University Tapes’ DVD which shows a much younger Richard doing 1:1 work with three clients and complements his book ‘Magic in Action’.

If you’re genuinely interested in improving your NLP skills these CDs and DVDs will help you do so.

See Richard in London

Chris Morris from NLP Connections is hosting a 10 day Advanced Master Practitioner Course in April with Richard Bandler and top master trainers Gabe Guerrero, Eric Robbie, Owen Fitzpatrick and Dr Ron Perry.

It's a fantastic opportunity to be tutored in a small group by four of Richard Bandler's closest, longest-standing and most trusted associates. You'll discover their secrets to success and will be able to apply them all to your practice. Follow the link or call Chris on 020 7107 9790 for more information.

FREE NLP Taster evenings are back!

I've bowed to popular demand and decided to run one free NLP taster evening in London and one in Milton Keynes.

Come along so you can find out for yourself what NLP is all about. However, they will be the only ones I’m running in 2008 so reserve your place now!

I look forward to meeting you.

NLP Definition of the month – Future Pacing

The process of mentally rehearsing oneself through some future situation in order to ensure that the desired behaviour will occur naturally and automatically.

Incredibly useful both for your own use in mentally preparing for an event and for testing the effect of an intervention with a client. By carefully watching your client’s response you can test how effective you've been. If it hasn't worked as well as you want, you know you need to do something else!

See our other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

Forum grows – thanks for your help

Many thanks to those who have joined our NLP Experts Forum, both as junior and full members.

The content continues to grow.....

You can look around or join as a junior member for free and full membership is only £15 a year. Why not join and introduce yourself or simply ask a question? You'll be very welcome.

Beale’s NLP Podcast: Hypnosis and Change Management

Are you curious about hypnosis?

Then listen to my latest podcasts with two of the world’s most famous hypnosis trainers, Stephen Gilligan and John La Valle.

Stephen trained with Bandler and Grinder in the early days of NLP and then moved on to become a student of Milton Erikson. John currently co-trains with Richard Bandler and runs the Society of NLP for Richard.

It’s fascinating to compare and contrast what they say.

We discuss:

  • What hypnosis is
  • The criteria for a good hypnotic subject
  • The criteria for a good hypnotist

And for those of you who are interested in company change, I’ve included an additional podcast from consultant Derek Bishop. He works on improving customer service and getting increased value from outsourcing, and is well worth listening to.

Next month’s episodes feature cold calling and seduction…

Co-founder Richard Bandler’s podcast

I’m also delighted to include a podcast of a recent interview of Kathlene La Valle with NLP co-founder Richard Bandler.

Richard confirms where the term Neuro-Linguistic programming came from and speaks of his continued drive to push the boundaries of NLP.

It’s posted with thanks to, and the agreement of, Kathleen and John La Valle.

Reviewed: Monsters and Magical Sticks

Hypnosis doesn’t exist – or is everything hypnosis?

Click here to find out about Monsters and Magical Sticks. It’s one of the classic and easy to read books on hypnosis. At least read the Amazon reviews…

NLP definition of the Month: Four Tuple (or 4-tuple)

A method used to notate the structure of any particular experience. The concept of the four tuple maintains that any experience must be composed of some combination of the four primary representational systems - A,V,K,O where A=auditory, V=visual, K=kinesthetic and O=Olfactory and Gustatory.

It ties in with the NLP pre-supposition that all the distinctions that we humans are able to make concerning our environment can be usefully represented by our five senses.
Thus, in working out people's mental strategies, it’s important to find out the sequence of their pictures, sounds, feelings, smell and taste.

Contents - what’s in your newsletter this month:

  • Beale’s NLP Podcast: Change Management
  • Recommended New NLP CD
  • January and February Practitioner Courses
  • Reviewed: Seduction Book
  • NLP Definition of the Month: Deep Structure
  • Forum Progress
  • And finally…

Beale’s NLP Podcast: Change Management

Are you involved in company change? Then listen to my three latest podcasts on change management. They show three different approaches to managing change in companies. John Whitworth from BT, Nick Bush from Openchord and Phil Jones from Excitent explain their approach to managing change projects.

We discuss

What is a change project?
Why they sometimes fail?
What is the role of a change agent?

And if you would like some new ideas on networking, you listen or read to podcasts from Andy Lopata and Lesley Morrissey. (Please allow 1 minute for connection to the MP3 file.)

Next month I’m changing the tempo and will be talking to two top hypnotists, Stephen Gilligan and John La Valle – it’ll be worth waiting for!

Recommended new CD – Meditation, Magick and Change ™

Are you interested in personal change? Are you interested in some of Richard Bandler’s most recent and best work? Then I highly recommend his 2 CD set Meditation, Magick and ChangeTM. This a recording of Richard and John La Valle at a very special seminar in Orlando.

January and February Practitioner Courses

Attending a practitioner course will help you build on your thinking, communication and change skills – and enable you to be more effective at what you do now, as well as giving you additional resources if you choose to move to something new.

Dates:

  • Practitioner Foundation 21-22nd January
  • Practitioner Basics 23-25th January
  • Practitioner Accreditation 13-15th February

And if you’re interested in becoming a master practitioner, we’ve also dates for our presentation, change management, hypnotic influence and coaching master class modules.

Give me a call on 01908 506 563 if you would like to discuss anything about the courses.

Book now from our seminar booking page.

Reviewed: Seduction Book

Richard La Ruina sent me a copy of his book, ‘The Natural Art of Seduction’ to review. While I gently yawned at his claim to be the ‘best seducer in Europe’, the book is actually rather good and is recommended for anyone interested in the topic. It follows a similar format to the Game, but builds on both ‘the Game’ and the ‘Mystery Method.’

Most of the book is set in the United Kingdom. There are a lot of raw skills in the book related to both selling, networking and communication which are not included in the traditional books on these topics. You can also look a full list seduction books here. I’ve also a recoded a podcast with Richard for a future newsletter.

It’s worth pointing out that this is about men being naturally appealing to women. I’d be interested in anyone volunteering to contribute to an article on how women attract men!

NLP definition of the Month: Deep Structure

The sensory maps (both conscious and unconscious) that people use to organise and guide their behaviour.

Between deep structure and surface structure (eg, speech), we distort, delete and generalise. In NLP we use questions from the meta-model to check on distortions and generalisations and recover some of the lost information from deletions.

One of the key skills in NLP is being able to ask ‘clean questions’ which enable whoever we’re working with to correct their own distortions, deletions and generalisations.

See our other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

Forum progress

I’m hoping to have a very prototype version of our forum ready for next month.

While our focus will always be on offering the best NLP training for business and professional people, the forum will give you the opportunity to ask questions. Also, for those that want to publish articles and raise their profile, the forum will give you additional ways to achieve this.

And finally…

Remember as you move into the New Year, there is a time to set exciting outcomes and a time to let go and enjoy the journey. Choose the balance that works for you.

Beale's Business NLP, coaching, sales and attraction newsletter - December 2007

Hi, here’s your December 2007 newsletter from UK NLP trainer Michael Beale of PPI … bringing you valuable hints, tips and information on business NLP, coaching, sales, networking and attraction.

Contents - what’s in your newsletter this month:

  • Beale’s NLP Podcast: Good networking
  • Recommended new eBlook, MP3 and CD
  • London taster evening
  • Winners for new site name
  • NLP definition of the month:
  • PPI Seminar Dates (2007/8)
  • Can I make you Rich?

Beale’s NLP Podcast: Good networking

How much do you network? I ask, because networking is a major route to market to a number of people who are running their own businesses, and I network when I can. So this month we’ve written up three podcasts from William Buist, Mark Lee and Caroline Newman on what good “networkers” do, which you can read or listen to.

We discuss:

What is networking?
What they actually do?
What beliefs do they have around networking and the people they network with?

A consideration? Is your network a part of you net worth?

You can listen to further podcasts on networking, change management and sales from Beale’s NLP Podcast. Please allow 1 minute for connection to the MP3 file.

Recommended new eBlook, MP3 and CD

I’ve been looking for a straightforward, relatively short and enjoyable introduction to the benefits of NLP for some time. I’m pleased to be able to recommend the “Inside Your Mind” series from New Zealand NLP Trainer Stephanie Philp. The series consists of an inexpensive eBook and if wanted, a companion CD or MP3 download.

I highly recommend you invest in this ebook – buy it from our DVD store following the link “Inside your Mind”. Stephanie and I took are NLP Trainer Trainers course together in Orlando some time ago, and I’m impressed by the way she thinks.

And while you’re on our site, have a look at our other recommended books from our book store.

London taster evening

A consistent theme when talking to individuals about the best way of learning NLP is that that it’s really beneficial experiencing NLP before reading about it.

You can too. For only £10 you can attend the next London taster on the Tuesday 11th December 2007 06:30pm at Regents College, near Baker Street.

To ensure you guarantee a place we suggest you book early. We do ask for a (non refundable) payment when you book. Entry is £20 at the door.

Book now from our seminar booking page.

While I strongly recommend you attend – they’re incredibly good fun and value, if you can’t make the taster evening and are genuinely interested in attending a training I may be able to arrange a 1:1 to discuss any questions you have. If so drop me a note at michaelbeale@ppimk.com.

Winners for the new forum / club site name!

I’ve split the prize for suggestions for a name for our new forum and membership site to Brian Corrigan and Paul Jarvis who suggested “NLP Elite Practitioners”, “NLP Achievers” and “NLP High Flyers’ Club”. Both will receive £50 (or £100 product from our CD/DVD store), together with a year’s free membership.

Further details will be announced early next year.

NLP definition of the month: Criteria

The values or standards a person uses to make decisions and judgments. It is usually extremely useful to understand your and other people’s criteria in both business and personnel situations.
Values are normally the answer to question, “What’s important to you about a particular subject?” Criteria are normally the answer to the question, “How do you know when a particular value has been met?”

Helping clients explore their values and criteria can be a starting point to help your client understand themselves, and in turn a starting point for them to explore what they really want.

See our other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

PPI Seminar Dates (200/8)

Would you like to benefit from knowing more about NLP? Then come and train with us! The longer you put it off the longer it will take you to achieve what’s important to you.

To find out about the dates and registration details for our taster sessions and accredited courses click on our NLP seminar registration page. The next NLP foundation is on the 21-22nd January 2008,

And finally, Can I make you rich?

I’ve just finished reading, “I can make you Rich” by Paul McKenna. Surprisingly in my personal library of a great number of NLP, personal development, business improvement and hypnosis books I didn’t have anything on ‘becoming rich’.

If the subject interests you, read it! The content is almost too straightforward from a reading point of view - the art is to do it! The book contains lots of really good exercises. You can read a short review here: I can make you Rich by Paul KcKenna.

And until next time …remember to find ways of having a better Christmas and New Year than you thought possible…and the very best to you and yours over the holiday period.

Great new NLP CD’s

We’re now stocking three great new CD sets: Richard Bandler’s Meditation, Magick and Change (2 CD’s) and Hypnosis in Munich (23 CD’s – in English!) and Doug O’Brien’s How deep is the rabbit hole? (7 CD’s – about hypnosis and shamanism) Check them out. I’ll be reviewing them individually over the next three months.

Attraction and seduction books

I’ve updated my attraction and seduction reading list which now includes books on seduction like ‘the game’ and ‘the mystery method’ as well books on genes and human evolution, female pleasure, romance novels, poetry and English literature.

While not all that is written is true they do give additional insights to an important part of human communication – which is often missed or ignored. Let me know if you think there are any key books I’ve missed.

NLP definition of the month: Context

The context is the framework surrounding a particular event. This framework will often determine how a particular experience or event is interpreted.

An example could be time or place. Would the experience or event be different if it occurred at a different time or place? What can you learn by imagining experiencing the event in a different time or place?

Context and frames are an extremely important part of communication. In any challenging situation it is often the person who sets the context or frame that achieves their outcome.

Gambia – The Ultimate Journey

Journey within a Journey - Gambia 2008 - Still places available

A close colleague, Clay Lowe, asked me to mention this 'one-off' special programme, which takes place in Feb/March 2008. It has been expertly designed to take you on a personal journey that will add a whole new level of fulfillment, clarity and joy in your life.

There is a maximum of 30 places on this 'once only' programme and he will need to hear from you straight away if you are considering being part of the magic (as we will be securing flights fairly soon).

To speak to Clay call 07790 909 505 so you can discuss the programme or visit Clay’s Blog

And finally, something new, something different…

I attended an evening seminar on Stock market option trading hosted by Greg Secker of Knowledge to Action, who was modeled by Paul Mckenna as part of his ‘make you rich’ project. While I can’t comment on his methodologies I was really impressed with the seminar.

If the topic is of interest I do recommend you attend.

And you can do so for free as we’re pleased to offer you complimentary tickets to what is considered to be one of the UKs top trading seminars. In recent years more people have started to trade the stock market to make an additional or primary income.

If you would like to find out how, Traders University presented by Knowledge To Action are holding seminars across the U.K and Ireland and would like to offer you complimentary tickets to attend. - You won't be oversold to!

A consistent theme when talking to individuals about the best way of learning NLP is that that it’s really beneficial experiencing NLP before reading about it.

You can too. For only £10 you can attend the next Milton Keynes taster on the Tuesday 9 October 2007 at Great Linford. We normally have very small numbers at Milton Keynes which means you get a unique opportunity to ask the questions you want. To ensure you guarantee a place we suggest you book early. We do ask for a (non refundable) payment when you book.

You can book now from our seminar booking page.

Win £100 and future plans!

I’m looking to start a subscription membership area within the http://www.ppimk.com/ site which will offer unique free downloads and discounts off seminars and product. It’s for people like you that genuinely want to explore and improve their business and life skills to the highest level. It’s going to be an exciting project and I look forward to you joining me in it.

Working names are the “NLP high flyers’ club” and the “NLP mile high club”. Can you suggest a better name? If so drop me a note at michaelbeale@ppimk.com.

If your name is chosen you will win a £100 cash prize and free entry to the membership area for 12 months. The closing is the date 31st October 2007, but brainstorm now while you’re thinking about it and let me know as soon as possible!

Deep Hypnosis in Scotland

Richard Bandler and John La Valle are running

  • Neuro Hypnotic Repatterning (NHR) on the 13-18 October 2007
  • Altered States, Shamanic States and Basic Brain exploration on the 20-22 October 2007

I’ve attended both and highly recommend them – and normally there are much smaller numbers than Richard’s usual seminars. Get further details from Meta NLP.

And, talking of hypnosis, remember our NLP hypnosis influence masterclass on the 7-9 November 2207. Attend this and you will increase your influence skills!

NLP definition of the month: Congruence

When all of a person’s internal beliefs, strategies and behaviours are fully in agreement and orientated to securing a desired outcome.

In a way the result is trust. If we trust someone it's usually because they are congruent. A congruent person is also much more likely to achieve their objectives.

One of the benefits of NLP training is that you get the opportunity to explore what’s really important to you, which is often a pre-requisite to congruence and good communication.

See our other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

PPI Seminar Dates (2007/8)

Would you like to benefit from knowing more about NLP? Then come and train with us!

To find out about the dates and registration details for our taster sessions and accredited courses click on our NLP seminar registration page.

The ‘4-Hour Work Week’

Two colleagues separately strongly recommended I listened to ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ by Timothy Ferriss, which I dutifully ignored for several months.

I now wish I listened to it sooner. It’s a challenging listen, but highly relevant for anyone who is looking to change their experience into a sustainable income and work - when, where, with whom and for as many hours they want. Within this context it’s highly recommended.

And finally, remember…

During October I’m carrying out short modelling projects on top sales people, top networkers and company change agents. If you would like to take part, let me know.

I’m also looking for volunteers to take part in some audio 1:1’s for a new CD series. If interested please let me know!

And until next time …remember that lucky people …have learnt when to trust their intuition.

Beale's Business NLP, coaching, sales and attraction newsletter - September 2007

Hi , here's your September 2007 newsletter from UK NLP trainer Michael Beale of PPI... bringing you valuable hints, tips and information on business NLP, coaching, sales, networking and attraction.

Contents - what's in your newsletter this month

  • September’s Podcast:Benefits of NLP
  • Product Interview: ‘Sleigh of mouth’ CDs
  • Taster Evenings
  • Highly Recommended: Bandler DVDs
  • The ‘Speed Seduction’ Interview
  • NLP definition of the month: Chunking
  • PPI Seminar Dates (2007/8)
  • And Finally: Another Invitation

September’s Podcast: Benefits of NLP

This month, you’ll hear me speak with consultant Dean Bennet. You’ll hear how he uses NLP, what else has helped him be successful, and what advice he would give to someone starting down the path of NLP training.

You can listen to the interview now from the NLP Benefit’s pod cast page (allow up to a minute for connection), or from the NLP Benefit’s pod cast on iTunes.

Product Interview: ‘Sleigh of Mouth’ CDs

I was delighted to speak to Doug O'Brien, NLP Master Practitioner and Certified Hypnotherapist … He told me about the benefits of his 'Sleigh of Mouth’ CD set – how it can be used for belief change, what 'SOM' has enabled him to do differently, and what listeners will get out of the CD set.

‘SOM’ was originally modelled from Richard Bandler by Robert Dilts. Doug’s contribution is that he’s made the patterns much easier to learn. You can listen now to the interview from Beale’ NLP pod cast page (again allow up to a minute for connection), or from Beale’s NLP pod cast on iTunes.

And, if interested you can buy the CD’s from our on line NLP DVD and CD store

Taster evenings

A consistent theme when talking to individuals about the best way of learning NLP is that it’s really beneficial experiencing NLP before reading about it. If you’re thinking about learning NLP, why don’t you come to one of our entertaining taster evening sessions in Milton Keynes or London – they’re fun and enlightening, and only cost £10.

These evenings are very popular, so try to book early. We do ask for payment (non refundable) when you book.

You can book from our seminar booking page.

Highly Recommended: Richard Bandler DVDs

During our seminars I usually show episodes of Richard’s Class of a Master DVD together with episodes of The Marshall Tapes DVD.

  • Class of a Master DVD shows Richard working with demonstration subjects and a ‘theatre’ type audience
  • The Marshall Tapes DVD shows Richard in doing 1:1 work (albeit in the 70’s – you’ll notice the beards!).

Between the two DVDs you get a fascinating insight into to how Richard works and the opportunity to model what he does.

The ‘Speed Seduction’ Interview

You may like Ross Jeffries, absolutely dislike him or even be confused by him. However, he always creates an impact!

I like what Ross does and use some of his ‘embedded command’ patterns in our courses. I also understand people taking a different view and have included this so you can make your own mind up.

Ross agreed to take part in a short interview which explains how he developed ‘Speed Seduction (SS)’ and the first patterns; how SS has developed in 2007; advice he gives to his students; and possible applications to business and his latest programmes.

Also, during the interview, Ross mentions how he has been influenced by Meditation Master Shinzen Young.

You can listen to the Ross Jeffries interview now from Ross.mp3 (allow up to a minute for connection), or from Beale’s NLP pod cast on iTunes.

You can visit details for Ross Jeffries London seminar here (adult content.)

NLP Definition of the Month: Chunking

Chunking is about organising or breaking down some experience into bigger or smaller pieces.

  • Chunking up involves moving to a larger more abstract level of information
  • Chunking down involves moving to a more specific and concrete level of information
  • Chunking laterally involves finding other examples at the same level of information

One application is in rapport. Some people will be more comfortable talking about more abstract ‘big picture’ concepts while others will be happier to talk about detail and more ‘concrete’ concepts.

You can see other NLP definitions from our full A-Z of NLP terms.

Who do you know who would like to achieve
significantly more in business, attain personal objectives, and
enjoy greater satisfaction from life?

This short ebook will show you how you or your friends, family, associates and colleagues can benefit from NLP, the many ways you can start and how we can help.

Click here to download your complimentary ebook.

Just Launched: NLP Pod cast

How has NLP helped you? I put that question to business coach Theresa Ahern from Australia’s Gold Coast, I also asked what advice she would give anyone just starting out on the NLP road. You can listen to her answers here. (Please allow a minute for the 11 minute MP3 file to download.)

And we’ll be talking to a wide range of coaches, business people and other professionals as to how they are using NLP over the coming months, so keep tuning in!

Attraction Tip: Get Lucky

Luck is useful to all of us! This month’s attraction tip comes from Richard Wiseman’s book ‘The Luck Factor’. Read an extract here to find out some of Richard’s conclusions on how to improve the odds of being ‘lucky’. What I find so interesting is how aligned they are to NLP approaches. I’d be interested to hear your feedback, so please do email me with your thoughts.

Teleseminars: Update

Further to last month’s teleseminars, I’m changing the format, so I’m looking for some volunteers to take part in this exciting development. Curious and think you might like to participate? Just read the post on my blog.

Recommendation: TRANCE-formations and other books

Richard Bandler and John Grinder’s TRANCE-formations is my favourite NLP and hypnosis book. Unfortunately it’s out of print and second hand copies are very expensive.

Click this link for details, and also for links to our recommended NLP books.

A Plug: Modelling the NLP Masters

Last month’s bad weather actually helped me! While stuck for three hours at Crewe station during the recent floods, I finally had a chance to catch up with the download of ‘Modelling the NLP Masters.’ This is where Tom O’Connor and Vikesh Ghelani interview 10 of the best NLP Master Trainers, including Dr Richard Bandler. Tom and Vik asked the trainers questions such as:

What exactly did you do to get so good at NLP?
How did you get your first clients?
Where do you see the opportunities in NLP to make money?
What do you believe about creating lasting change?

It’s only $157; I’d consider it essential listening for anyone interested in a career using NLP even at ten times the price. There’s even a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you feel the materials won’t help you (unlikely, I’m sure), you can get your investment refunded in full if you return the package within the guarantee period.

You can access more details here.

NLP definition of the month: Beliefs

Robert Dilts’ definition of ‘defined beliefs’ is: closely held generalisations about
cause, meaning, and the boundaries in the world around us relating to:

our behaviour
our capabilities
our identities.

It’s helpful to aware that beliefs function at a different level to concrete reality; in fact, they serve to guide and interpret our perceptions of reality.

Beliefs can be notoriously difficult to change through typical rules of logic or rational thinking. So when you don’t really know if something is true or not it can be worth asking, “What would be more useful to believe?”

See our A-Z on NLP terms here.

Just launched: NLP Teleseminars

How would you like to attend seminars about different and valuable aspects of NLP … and all without leaving the comfort of your own home? Interested? Good, because we’ve just launched a series of six telephone seminars covering: values and outcomes, states and anchors, state and anchors, rapport, timeline, hypnotic influence and the benefits on NLP.

And it doesn’t matter where you are in your NLP learning curve, as we want to attract a mix of skill levels. In fact, we have set a limit of 10 attendees per teleseminars which means you’ll get the attention you want.

As a thank you (OK, valuable bribe) for signing up, we’d like to offer your first teleseminars at a full 50% off. Thus, your investment for the first teleseminar is only £6, and the rest of the series are still a low £12. Remember, you can offset any costs against tax.

Click here now to take advantage of NLP Teleseminars with me, Michael Beale, and experience a new and valuable way of understanding or revising basic NLP approaches!

Just Launched: NLP Benefits Project

Get some exposure and help others at the same time

People have different ideas about NLP – what it is and how it will help them. The questions for you are:

· Did you experience less benefit from NLP than you expected?
· Did you experience much more?
· Would you be prepared to share your thoughts with others?

I’m planning a number of pod casts to help individuals decide more accurately if NLP is for them. If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, please read this brief and contact me if you’re interested in taking part.

Business Networking: A Useful Guide to Networking

Are you networking enough? Buy our ebook and take the test!

I’m curious that some individuals in large companies haven’t yet grasped the benefits of networking! Like insurance, it’s best to start when you don’t need it.

In addition, some individuals we’ve spoken to have a fear about networking as they don’t know what it entails, and don’t know what they should do to be a successful networker.

The good news is, Steve Westall and I have just relaunched our ebook, ‘A Useful Guide to Networking’ where you can find the answers to these concerns and more.

‘Following on from the highly interesting and well attended session on seduction last year, Michael provides a follow up session. You don't have to have come to the first session to find this interesting and useful. Michael has been studying and experimenting with NLP based techniques to help both women and men seduce their partners. Following on from his session on the language of influence, this session looks at a specific application that has wider applications as well...’ Phil Jones

Book now! The session is on Tuesday 12 June. Arrive at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. It’ll run to about 9.00pm.

Attraction Tip: David DeAngelo Laws

I’m still reviewing David’s body language DVDs – I’m pretty busy and I don’t want to rush through them. So, in the meantime, have a look at my favorite 20 of his 77 Laws of success with women and dating. They’re sound laws for life too.

Click here to read David DeAngelo’s laws and gain some tips for life!

NLP definition of the month: Behaviour

Robert Dilts defined behaviour as the specific physical actions and reactions through which we interact with people and environment around us.

Peter Honey, not NLP but still useful, defines behaviour as any overt, or obvious action – and that includes everything we say, as well as all non-verbal movements.

One of the main benefits of NLP training is to increase behavioural flexibility, so that you have more choice as to how you respond in any situation.

Review: NLP - The Wild Days by Terrence L. McClendon

If you’re interested in the foundations of NLP, I recommend you read this book. And it doesn’t matter if you’re busy as it’s short (yet covers all the points very well) and fun to read.

The book shows you how NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) came about and developed, and gives you an insight into its two key developers, Richard Bandler and John Grinder.

I especially like it that the book emphasises that NLP is not the techniques it produced, but rather much more about attitude and modelling.

Verdict: Useful if you want to pick up some stories about the birth of NLP. Recommended.

Review: New Bandler DVD set - Highly Recommended

I've now had the chance to watch and listen to his 'Class of a Master' DVD set … and it’s now my favourite of Richards Bandler's DVDs!

There’s a short introduction by Paul McKenna and then each section is shot in front of a studio audience. The stories and content are tight, clear and easy to understand.

Verdict: Highly recommended. If you buy anything this month, let this be the product!

Modelling the Masters: Running a Business

Now, have you ever thought about running your own NLP or NLP related coaching or consulting business? I’ve had many people say that to me. My question is usually, ‘Well, what’s stopping you?’ The answer generally is they’re not quite sure to where to start, especially with the confusing number of websites and products on the market.

The good news is, 10 successful NLP Master Trainers have got together to put together a major 'tips' package! It’s designed especially for people who want to start an NLP/Coaching business.

And there’s more: you’ll benefit from a selection of FREE additional bonus material, including a unique ‘relax, soften and connect’ MP3 that I produced.

The whole package is guaranteed (if you don’t like it, you can return it and you’ll be refunded with no quibble), so you won’t lose out by buying it.

Personally, I’m so sure you’ll love it, I’m expecting you to hang on to it tight! I'll review it next month. In the meantime, see the details for yourself, by clicking on the link below.

The link will only be active wc 23rd April.

Business Coaching: Does Networking Really Work?

More and more people are beginning to ‘network’, but many are still sceptical about the whole thing. The question is, will networking work for you? Well, yes and no. ‘No’ if you’re unprepared, if you’re not really sure of what you want from the process, and you find it very difficult to engage other people in conversation.

‘Yes’ is the answer for most people, even if you’re new to business or shy – good networking skills are easily learned and cultivated.

Networking doesn’t mean going to meetings and asking people for work; more, it helps you build up a rapport with a group of people who begin to know and trust you. You may help each other out, and you may be able to pass on referrals to your network fellows. In the end more and more people will ask you to work for them.

My associate Andy Lopata, one of the UK’s leading Business Networking Strategists, answers this question ‘does networking work?’ in more detail.

Click here to read his article.

Attraction Tip: Remember the Cube Game

I'm still reviewing David DeAngelo's Body Language DVD set. It’s interesting because it adds a lot to basic NLP training on rapport.

In brief, it suggests that from an attraction point of view, a man doesn't want to get into rapport too early with a women … ideally he wants to wait until she gets into rapport with him … However, more next time.

In the meantime I'll remind you of the intriguing Cube Game. Spread the Word … but keep the secret. The cube is an imagination game - and more - that holds a secret you dare not reveal. Last seen making the rounds in the coffee houses of Easter Europe, the cube is rumoured to be of Sufi origin, but know one knows for sure...

Click here to read about the cube game

NLP Definition of the Month: Anchoring

Anchoring is where you or someone else associates an internal response with an external trigger (similar to classical conditioning). This means the response may be accessed quickly, and sometimes covertly. It can be a great help when you’re trying to optimise your activity; for example, playing in a match or speaking at a seminar.

In reality, anchoring is what advertising is about: ie, linking good feelings to a product. In NLP terms it’s about noticing when an individual is in a strong emotional state and making a sound, touch or visual ‘anchor’. The anchor could be something as simple as squeezing your ear lobe, for example. The individual links their emotional state to that sound, touch or visual anchor in the future.

If it’s done correctly, when you repeat the anchor you’ll be able to re-access that good/heightened state instantaneously. It’s a marvellous tool!

Business coaching tip - networking

One of the keys to successful networking is to develop people who will 'champion' your business. Andy Lopata explores how to become a 'fit' networker and develop champions for your business in this great article.

New Media in Sante Fe and now the UK

If you want to ethically make more money marketing your business and products online, and start tapping the power of the Internet to dramatically increase your professional income this could be the most important workshop that you'll ever attend.

Actually the topic is so important to my business that I've decided to attend the Sante Fe seminar and help Ryan Nagy bring it over to the UK. I'll keep you informed of progress......

Attraction and seduction review

I've come to the conclusion that the attraction and seduction community is currently contributing more to personal development than many of the traditional personal development thought leaders.

I've just revisited Ross Jeffries "Advanced Speed Seduction (R), Frame control and sexual themes, Los Angeles SS seminar 1999" DVD's.

While I would NOT recommend these to someone who is totally new to the material they are one of my favorite DVD sets for more serious students learning about seduction, NLP and hypnotic language.

The review also links to an extract of a fascinating conversation with Ross, Style and Mystery.

Glossary of terms - Accessing cues

Subtle behaviour that will both help to trigger and indicate which representational system (senses)* a person is using to think with.

Typical types of accessing cues include eye movements, voice tone, tempo, body posture and breathing patterns. i.e.* seeing, hearing, touching (feeling), smelling and tasting.

This means that by watching and listening carefully you can get clues of how (not what) a person is thinking.

For a example if a person is looking up (while they are accessing internal information), leaning back in their chair and breathing quickly they are most likely visualising.
